Tournament to be Played from April 3 to May 29

The groups for the 2024 Copa Libertadores have been set, with Brazilian side Fluminense, Paraguayan club Cerro Porteño, Peruvian outfit Alianza Lima, and Chilean giants Colo-Colo all drawn in the same group. The group stage will be played from April 3 to May 29, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

Fluminense, the 2022 Copa Libertadores champions, will be favored to win the group. However, Cerro Porteño, Alianza Lima, and Colo-Colo are all capable of pulling off an upset. Cerro Porteño won the Paraguayan Primera División in 2023, while Alianza Lima and Colo-Colo finished second and third in the Peruvian Primera División and Chilean Primera División, respectively.

The group stage is sure to be closely contested, with all four teams having a chance of reaching the knockout stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16, where they will be joined by the eight teams that finish third in their respective groups in the Copa Sudamericana.
